Gift List: Hasten

Being in touch with their own bodies, Garou have learned to augment their movement to incredible degrees, allowing them to move with supernatural speed and finesse. Garou who learn these Gifts not only have the ability to physically move faster, but can also manipulate their surroundings to assist in maneuvering past obstacles in their way.

The following Gifts are available to the Ragabash Auspice and the Silent Strider tribe.

Speed of Thought (•)

The Garou doubles her running speed.

Cost: 1 Gnosis
Dice Pool: No roll is necessary.
For the rest of the scene, the character’s Speed is doubled.
Action: Reflexive

Messenger’s Fortitude (••)

The Garou can run at full speed for three days without rest, food, or water. When she reaches her destination, she has 10 minutes to complete whatever business brought her and then she must sleep for one full day.

Cost: 1 Gnosis
Dice Pool: No roll is necessary.
Others may be granted the Messenger’s Fortitude as well, for one Gnosis point her additional runner. The Gift ends when the Garou reaches her destination, when the Garou decides to end the effects, or if she does anything other than running.
Action: Instant

Intrusion (•••)

It’s almost impossible to keep a Garou with this Gift out of a house. Once activated, this Gift allows the werewolf to open any barrier presented to her: doors unlock at her approach, and padlocks fall open with no explanation.

Dramatic Failure: A dramatic failure of this Gift causes the barriers, even those not locked, to mystically seal themselves against the Garou.
Failure: The Gift fails to activate.
Success: For exactly one minute afterward, all forms of locks and barriers allow her passage, from computerized vault locks to barricades of 2x4s nailed up across doors. Mystically sealed barriers still require a roll to bypass, but every success on the initial Purity roll adds +3 to such attempts. Barriers disabled by this Gift do not automatically re-seal themselves.
Exceptional Success: Five or more successes increase the effect of this Gift to a number of minutes equal to the successes achieved.

Speed Beyond Thought (••••)

The werewolf can run at 10 times his normal land speed.

Cost: 1 Gnosis
Dice Pool: Stamina + Athletics + Glory
Action: Instant

Roll Results


Dramatic Failure: Instead of the Gift multiplying the werewolf’s Speed, its effects overwhelm the Garou’s body, halving his Speed for the remainder of the night.
Failure: The Garou retains his standard Speed.
Success: Success multiplies the Garou’s Speed by 10. The effects last for up to eight hours, during which the Garou can do nothing but concentrate on running. When the effects end, the werewolf must eat immediately or face frenzy from hunger.
Exceptional Success: Achieving five successes allows the Garou to act normally, disregarding the need to eat immediately after the effects end, and does not have to concentrate solely on running.

Gate of the Moon (•••••)

This Gift creates as specialized moon bridge that takes the werewolf to her destination instantly. At least a sliver of the moon must be visible at her area of departure.

Cost: 1+ Gnosis. One Gnosis is necessary for every 100 miles the Garou needs to travel.

Roll Results


Dramatic Failure: The moon bridge is created, but instead of taking the Garou to her destination, it takes her somewhere … else. The ending destination is completely up to the Storyteller’s discretion.
Failure: The moon bridge fails to be created.
Success: Success transports the Garou instantly to her destination.
Exceptional Success: 5 or more successes refunds half of the Gnosis expenditure back to the Garou as the Lunes and Luna grant the Garou leniency in using her bridges.
